The family started ranching in Coal County Oklahoma when Dr. R.D. Cody married Mattie Self in 1911.  Dr. Cody and his son A.D., known as “Son”, expanded the operation with the purchase of The Diamond Bar Ranch during World War II.   It continues to be family owned and operated.

The fourth generation continues with Dan Cody as manager of Diamond Bar Sporting, LLC.  Diamond Bar Sporting has an operating agreement with brothers Bob and Steve Cody, to manage the Cody Ranch fishing and hunting activities.  Dan played football with The University of Oklahoma for 4 years and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens to play defensive end in the nfl.  He returned to Oklahoma in 2008 reuniting in the family cattle operation with his father Steve.  Dan has always enjoyed hunting and fishing and has assumed the management of Diamond Bar Sporting, LLC.
